dew

I learned something tonight or I should say, relearned. At least I hope I learned this at some point in my life and have just forgotten. What causes dew? Do any of you remember? (and no cheating by looking it up before you post your comment.) I learned it in Ashley's baggy book tonight. I was very excited.

I think it's from the humidity in the air. The night temp drops and the ground stays cool, so the water (humidity) collects on the grass. At least that's what I think happens...it does explain why there's no dew here in the mountains, anyway...Am I right?

All the fairies crying on the blades of grass....DUH!

I'm typing this trying not to look at the previous comment. But I believe it occurs when the air temperature reaches the dew point (the amount of humidity on the air). Then the moisture collects (condenses?) on whatever it can...

Time to start laying out some fleece?
